Loose Wire, Loose Wagstaff

My colleague Jeremy Wagstaff will move to Singapore. He already decided to move to the neighbour Singapore due to Internet access problems in Indonesia — where he lives with his wife, an Indonesian woman, for many years now.
“But, moving to Singapore will not my long-term planning. I will go there just to set-up my office where I can organize my Podcast and video blog files well. You know that it’s easy to download podcasts in Jakarta, but it’s very hard to upload them,” he told me when we had a chit-chat recently at Starbuck of Setiabudi One, South Jakarta.
“Of course, I will return back here, where my Singapore office has been settled,” he added.
Jeremy has worked as a journalist since 1986 — for BBC, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and the Far Eastern Economic Review. Since 2000 he has been writing a technology column (called Loose Wire) and has since 2004 appeared regularly on the BBC World Service.
However, Indonesia is gonna miss him. Me, too.

Well, might be the first time but not the last. If you need to work with internet daily and need reliability, well, sorry to say, Indonesia is not the country to chose. In Europe, the broadband can be as huge as 20Mb/s for something like 25 euros per mounth.
Think about that : when you are really busy, do you want to spend hours checking on a file upload ? When it’s your job, well…
